Yes belive it, it is an update - Images from 2009-2010
19-04-2010 @ 20:39 - Beyond The Square

After a little look at the old blog yesterday and a meandering back to the heady days of Hawley-sq, imbibe alive, spot the spittle, and the various goings on the Flat2. A sense of nostalgia came upon me and moved me with great speed to pull a host of images from the last year and post them for the interest of the various web bots than no doubt frequent this site. If you are a human being and are reading this then hello and I hope you enjoy the random odd pics of 2009 to 2010. I also aim to update this old blog on a much more regular basis.

Bye Bye Bea
13-08-2009 @ 17:03 - Beyond The Square

Sadly for us, Bea our beautiful Parsons Jack Russel, had to be adopted by a very nice couple in Devon in May. She had become far too over excited about our 10 month old daughter, and had turned into a stressed out little dog. For her good, our daughters and ours she was re-homed in Dawlish. With thanks and help from http://www.terrierrescue.co.uk/

We have regular and welcome updates from her new family and she has fitted in fine, and is im sure getting spoilt rotten. She has 3 good walks a day, lots of new toys, her own room, a long lie in in the morning, lots of fuss and has her meals specially cooked for her, (maybe they can adopt me too). Anyhow over in the highly irregularly updated Beas Blog I have put a final image (of Bea, ball in mouth, ears a-flapping, happy in her new home), and will call the blog closed, but left intact. If we do get any news, i will update via the main page.

Bye Bye Bea

Its a bit late but - we moved........

Do not fret though, as we are only down the road and round the corner. The blog will still be live and I will be updating it very shortly. Probably in the next 1/2 hour actually. Until then!

an unexpected visit to the new Saatchi Gallery
18-02-2009 @ 17:19 - Beyond The Square

Whilst in London over the weekend we passed the new Saatchi Gallery so decided to pay a visit - (the highlights are below). Also for those of us who admit to being bibliophiles it happens to be right by the new Taschen Book book shop in Duke of York Sq. Obviously the obligatory cake shop was near by, though hefty on the pounds sterling it turned out to be.

A great Museum to visit and spend the afternoon with good sandwiches and tea. Below are some of the more weird and wonderful highlights.

Some images mainly from the Brighton Art Fair this year, and the rest are from the Black Rabbits visit to Top drawer at Olympia, London. The picture of the railings is dedicated to the writers of 'Margate Architecture' this really is something for the 'Kiddies' - ah bless em!

(As boringly usual - click on the images to make em bigger blah blah blah yawn yawn etc - you know the drill)

Devonian Delights July 08
30-07-2008 @ 18:00 - Beyond The Square

We traipsed on down to Devon for a week - and a splendid sun burning, clotted cream OD'ing, west country ale supping time was had.

Much '2 penny' and '1 penny' spending joy was had on Teignmouth traditional pier (which isn't one of those huge Weston Supermare smoldering affairs), of which was furnished with traditional arcade machines built by companies in Broadstairs and Ramsgate. Shame there isn't space in Margate for such a similar affair which would benefit local companies, peoples and visitors????

(Go on - click each image to divulge your self in enlarged Devonian delights! No? Oh please yourselves )

Pulse in big smoke
06-06-2008 @ 21:12 - Beyond The Square

We traveled to the big smoke of Londinium. Not usually for the likes of us, but they let us past the barriers and we were left to our own devices on the streets, (which are in fact NOT paved with gold!?)

What joy and unimaginable fun we had, 3 days stuck in the Earls court exhibition space, with wretched tea and scolding paper cups.

Back in Margate a feeling of serenity flooded over us and our woes were lifted as we parked outside our humble abode, and gazed at the side of my newly keyed car. Theres no place like home......
