Un-Fair at Hawley Square

Yes my dearios we had a 'Fun Fair' arrive on the square last week for a three day extravaganza, to celebrate the opening of the new library???Mmmm.As you can see it was well attended by the ride operators and council workmen.

I was told by a nice lady from the council that the fair was for children and that we didn't have to worry about anti-social behavior, drunkenness etc. This was being encouraged and supported by the game/stall holders, where their main prizes for knocking something off something or hooping a hoop around a something was bottles of booze. (you can just make out the bottle shapes on the last image - give it a click)

Great prizes for 'the kiddies', get em started young.....

Here we are now in 2008 and below are some images of what we got up to from the end of Dec into the beginning of Jan. What joy and traditional over indulgence was had - and now the aftermath is taking its bloated effect. Hope yours has been similar....

"At last!" i hear you cry. Well here we are folks - the update we all dream of - (get the reference?) subtle eh!?. Check out the images and click two PMs of purpleness at the o2 Arena, a second fort trip that was, and i quote the Bayblast skipper "The roughest we would ever taken anyone out in, we didn't realise it would be that rough - im not going out in that again" (hense the 1 picture only as it was a camera braking - skin soaking journey), also the Kite Festival at Margate which we caught the tail end of, Hmm? yes its a shame that holidays last a limited period of time, but here for as long as i pay for the web space are some savoury moments of our hols for you all to keep on enjoying for as long as you want....

Delight at the 3 hour traffic jam, sit or stand in awe at the overcast skies, wonder at the knitted objet d'art of Newlyn, look from a disappointing distance at the remains of Hallsands, breath in the bleak atmosphere of a pub near Morcamblake, look on in amazement at the listing Napoli.
