Another day another diy delight - here we spend our sunday - ripping more tiles off the walls, and also a huge tile covered panel (which hides the rotting wall and wood behind it), Deep Joy! The smell of damp and rotten wood fills the flat and our lungs MMmmmm. We have fought another battle, but the war has only just begun.

DIY set 4
Yes-even before one project finishes another one starts, and the evidence is above. Note the old wallpaper underneath two layers of tiles, plywood and then plaster board in the bathroom. We found some old brass spurs and a stetson in the gap between them.
"Come back y'all you hear, for our next installment"

...The cupboard continues - using all my free time while im on holiday - great!

for your pleasure, and very little of mine - it continues, and is nearing (for my part in the on-slaught) the end.

So here good people you are witnessing the last bouts of a long and arduous fight against wood, plaster, mdf, screws and 'No More nails'.

Many have fallen but one still stands - 'Uber-Linds'. Her might is strong and skill is cunning with paint & brush - she feels no fear in the presence of sand paper, and laughs in the face of quick drying polli-filla (from a tube). It may take days (& probably will) of manoeuver and tactics, but she will out-wit her opponent and defeat this dastardly diy deluge. Click the images below to see her in full flight of fight.....

Because we are kindly considerate folk and recycle what we can, we decided to get the boxes of stuff out of the flat and make a home for them in the garden. Below are pictures of the progress - finished article will be posted when finished.....

...oh yes- all the wood has been salvaged from pallets and when i broke up my old studio, in keeping with the re-cycling theme.

......This DIY triumph has been bought to you today by the letters H, A, R, D, and S, L, O, G, and the numbers 7.00 (hours to make & paint).

I thank you. Drop by next time to see 'bathroom progress' - oh what joy and fun - with installments of false ceilings, plaster boarding, floor leveling, tiling etc etc. You know you cant wait....

DIY set 11

Arhh yes we spend the hottest weekend yet (last week end not this)of 2006 in our confined cell of a bath/shower-room. This windowless pit is an oven of darkness where the only light comes from the large halogen lamp (kindly lent to us by our electrician), who's brightness is matched by its deliverance of nuclear core heat. The plumber was long gone yet we still stood in puddles, these though were generated by our own fair bodies trying to damper the effects of this baking hinterland.

here are the snaps....

yes.... we tore back the bare walls and laid bare the lath and plaster - we hunted and swiftly dealt a blow to the ravages of our tall ceiling and laid it to rest a foot and a half lower.

Our rivals piled around us in heaps and the smell of canker rose from the debris. We set to and re-built the fair walls and shod it in the finest plaster board we could lay our hands on (jewsons - £6 a sheet). No evil will pentrate there in, as lain neath the boards is spun wool of rocks teasled by the fair maidens of Wickes. All in all- bish bash bosh - job done.

DIY set 12

another glorious Sunday relaxing in our bathroom, putting an underfloor down - avoiding the mulitude of pipes - tiling the walls and building a cupboard for th sink - what joy.

DIY set 13

Oh yes! - joy joy joy! Our bathroom takes shape and with our combined forces we 'heave ho' and challenge the foaming grey tides that drown us with continuous diy deluge. 'A hoy and yonder' is a fair coast of bathroom complete, and if the weather turns fair and the current is right we shall be pulled into its safe shore. We ride the waves and suffer the surf.........
